Case Study for 145 Repair Stations
WBParts conducted a month-long Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing case study on the movement of technicians from an aircraft to the parts bin for standard hardware. We worked with seven repair stations across the country and Fitbit to conduct the study.
On average, the technicians walked 8 to 9 hours per week to get the standard hardware needed to complete a given task. Once the repair used a hardware cart system we designed, the number of hours dropped dramatically to just over 4 per week, per technician.
