5420-01-430-4227 A heavy assault bridge capable of providing responsive horizontally launched bridging in support of heavy combat/tactical maneuver forces. It consists of a turretless Abrams tank chassis, a bridge, and launcher. It can span 24 meter gaps and support a MLC 70 loading crossing at 16 kph. It is launched from under armor in 5 minutes and retrieved in 10 minutes. It is operable by a crew of two, and has near equal mobility and survivability with the Abrams tank force.
