THE MONOMERIC SUBUNITS OF GPX-1 TO 3 EACH HAVE THE AMINO ACID SELENOCYSTEIN AT THE ACTIVE SITE OF THE ENZYME. THE BEST CHARACTERIZED AND MOST HEAVILY RESEARCHED FORM IS GPX-1, THE INTRACELLULAR FORM, SOMETIMES ALSO CALLED CELLULAR GPX (CGPX). |
